what is skin camouflage?

Skin camouflage is a means of becoming more comfortable and confident with a skin abnormality that you may suffer from. In particular when the condition is on the face, it can damage self-confidence and hinder life’s experiences.

Conditions can include burns, scarring, loss of pigmentation (vitiligo), lupus, rosacea, port wine, leg veins, acne, and tattoos which have become outgrown. Skin grafts can also be camouflaged to match normal skin tone, but the texture will not be changed.

While skin camouflage is not a miracle cure for any of these conditions, it can provide you with the option of regaining your confidence by concealing the condition.

As time goes by, many people gradually choose to stop using skin camouflage as they have become more comfortable and no longer feel they need to conceal their condition.

The creams are specifically designed, offering durable camouflage (as much as 3 days after one application on the body). However, I would recommend daily removal of camouflage when it is applied to the face. The cream feels no weightier than foundation make-up. With a vast range of colours available, a good match for your personal skin tone will be found.

The creams apply very much like foundation, and this would be demonstrated and taught in a consultation so that personal application can be done with comfort, confidence, and ease.

Where appropriate, a powder may also be recommended. The purpose of adding a powder is to prolong the duration of the cream before another application is required. Without a powder, it may be necessary to apply the cream to the problem area at the start of each day as part of a normal make-up routine; whereas application with the use of powder might only be necessary every three days, everywhere other than the face.

The powder used will be unnoticeable on the skin, both in appearance and sensation.
